SIBBC&S Online Programs are committed to supporting the academic success and progress of its students. This policy defines the standards for maintaining good academic standing, as well as the procedures for addressing academic probation, suspension, removal from the programs.
To remain in good academic standing, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade of 70 in their courses. The cumulative grade is calculated as the average of the final grades earned across a sequence of six courses.
Good academic standing is required to continue enrollment and qualify for graduation.
Students who achieve a grade of 60 in multiple courses, indicating barely passing performance, will be placed on academic probation.
Probation serves as a formal warning that the student’s academic performance does not meet SIBBC&S’s academic standards.
Conditions for students on probation may include enrolling in a reduced course load and attending academic support services.
Students on probation are required to achieve a minimum of 70 marks in their courses during the probation period of 6 months to return to good academic standing.
Students on academic probation who fail to meet the conditions or whose academic performance declines further may be requested to withdraw from the programs. This step is considered when it is clear that the student cannot meet the academic requirements in a reasonable timeframe.
